Frequently Asked Questions

General

Where are you located?

897 Delaware Ave #102, Buffalo, NY 14209

What forms of payment do you accept?

Card or Cash. I keep cards on file through my booking website- Massage Books.

Do I have to talk during the session?

You’re welcome to relax in silence — in fact, I encourage stillness during Reiki and bodywork so you can drop into your body and fully receive. Talking can sometimes pull us out of that embodied state, so I hold the space quietly unless you’d like to share something or need to check in. That said, this is your time — if gentle conversation helps you feel more at ease, I’ll always meet you there.

What is your cancellation policy?

Clients can cancel or reschedule up to 24 hours before the appointment.

Arriving late for treatment may require shortening the length of the treatment.

A card on file is required for online booking for the sake of late cancellation or no shows.

A $50 fee will be charged:

  • If the client gives less than 24 hour notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment.

  • No show or missed appointment.

Do you work on all genders and body types?

Yes — all are welcome here. My work honors every body with respect, sensitivity, and care.

Do you offer travel massage?

Yes! — I offer travel massage for clients in the Buffalo area. A travel fee applies based on distance.

Do you offer chair massage for events?

Yes — I offer on-site chair massage for events and workplaces. Please contact me for rates and availability.

Can I combine Massage and Reiki in one session?

Absolutely. Many clients prefer a blend of both, allowing the body, mind and spirit to fully find restoration.

Who will be working on me?

All sessions are provided by me, Olivia Arnone, a NYS Licensed Massage Therapist and Reiki practitioner devoted to holistic healing and embodied awareness.

Massage Therapy

What should I expect during my first massage?

We will begin the session with a short check-in around health history, any current resting pain, your goals for treatment and comfort preferences.

Then you will settle onto the table and we will move at a pace that feels safe and restorative. I will check in on pressure and your comfort throughout the session.

After the session is over we check-in with how the body is feeling and share insights. I will recommend a basic treatment plan.

Payment and rebooking is completed at the end of each session.

Do I have to undress completely?

Only to your comfort level. You will be properly draped throughout the entire session, and I will only uncover the area I am working on.

Is it normal to feel sore afterward?

Sometimes mild soreness can occur as your body releases tension — similar to post-workout soreness. Staying hydrated, resting and/or taking an epson salt bath can help alleviate any muscle soreness.

Reiki

What is Reiki and how does it work?

Reiki is a Japanese healing art that supports balance in the body, mind, and spirit. The word Reiki translates to “universal life energy.” It was developed in the early 1900s by Mikao Usui, who taught it not only as a method for hands-on healing but as a daily spiritual practice rooted in mindfulness and compassion.

Energy is channeled through light touch or hovering hands to clear stagnation and promote harmony.

What does a Reiki session feel like?

Everyone experiences Reiki differently — sensations may include warmth, tingling, deep calm or seeing colors and visuals. Many people simply feel peaceful and grounded.

Do I need to believe in energy work for it to help?

You don’t have to “believe” in Reiki for it to have an effect — the body naturally responds to gentle presence and relaxation. However, being open to receive does make a difference. When the nervous system feels safe and trusting, it softens, allowing energy — and healing — to move more freely. Even quiet curiosity is enough; Reiki meets you exactly where you are and works at the pace your body is ready for.

How might I feel after a Reiki session?

Reiki allows our body to generally feel lighter, centered, and emotionally clear. Some people may also experience vivid dreams and a stronger connection to their intuition. Sometimes subtle shifts continue unfolding in the days that follow.

Listen to your bodies basic needs — hydrate, rest, and eat for nourishment.
